I have a Mac desktop, OS High Sierra version 10.13.6. The Apple app store does not seem to have the fitbit app for the desktop, only for the iPad and iPhones. In order to load music onto my Versa it advises to download the desktop app, but it isn't present in the app store. Any wisdom?
Fitbit Connect Mac Download
@bilgepirate, I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. As @SteveH mentioned, for Mac OS, you can download Fitbit Connect from here. Install it and open it in order to set up and sync your device. Note that with Fitbit Connect you can't set up a Versa, Ionic or Charge 3, in which case you will need a mobile device.
I have just bought a Fitbit Inspire. I'm trying to connect it through my Mac Book Pro running on OS 10.14.6 and on my phone Samsung GT-I8200 running on Android 4.2.2. When I try to connect through Fitbit Connect on my computer I cannot find my Inspire listed among the products. When I try to connect over my phone (the app is up to date) it doesn't let me continue after asking me if I'm ready to set up my Inspire and after I clicked on Set up now (it just gets back to the main page where ti says "set up your device").
I'm trying to download the desktop app (Fitbit Connect I guess it's called?) and every person and help file points to fitbit.com/setup, which is - so far as it looks like from my computer - not a page that exists. Or is trying to redirect me to a page that doesn't exist, I suppose. I accidentally posted to the Win10 forum because that was the only open topic that came up when I searched, and got sent here instead (I didn't know iOS was meant to include Apple Desktop when I looked at the list of forums, but hopefully I'm in the right place now?) I don't know whether I'm supposed to be going to a different link on a Mac, or whether I should be opening a support ticket, or *how* to open a support ticket (I tried chat but just got a bot).
@JayI Where are you located? Some Canadian users are reporting that they get an error message when trying to download Fitbit Connect. A moderator suggested changing your location to the US to see if that helps. I am not following that thread because I am in the US, so I don't know if that is a solution.

The updated support pages explain when the Fitbit Connect app is going away and what to do instead. Which is essentially to download the phone app. Since Fitbit Connect is the only way to transfer music for offline listening, many users may be frustrated.
The Fitbit Connect desktop software lets you transfer music from your computer to the wearable if you have a supporting watch. Newer devices, like the Fitbit Sense and Versa 3, cannot store downloaded music.
The death of the Fitbit Connect desktop app will mean that Fitbit wearers who have managed to avoid the brand's mobile app have fewer options. An increasingly subscription-focused marketplace has been coming for a long time now. Fitbit Connect is still downloadable on Windows 10 and Mac OS X, but the company says the Fitbit app for iPhone and Android provides the "best experience."

Even though you are allowed to download about 300 songs on the Versa, but keep in mind that you can only transfer files that you own, that is to say, the audio files without restriction. Songs from music subscription services like Apple Music, Spotify are all encrypted and not supported by Versa. Since Deezer and Pandora are two music streaming service partners of Fitbit Versa currently, you can not play iTunes music with encryption on Fitbit Versa until the agreement made between Apple and Fitbit in the future.
So here we are happy to share you another option to help you listen to music from iTunes including Apple Music songs on Fitbit Versa: use Sidify Apple Music Converter to download Apple Music songs, iTunes M4P music or audiobooks to MP3 and store them on your Windows PC or Mac, then transfer the downloaded music from iTunes to Fitbit Ionic through Fitbit Connect.
With Sidify Apple Music Converter, all encrypted iTunes music would be downloaded as MP3 and saved to your Windows PC and Mac local file folder. Now you can use Fitbit Connect to transfer the downloaded iTunes music to Fitbit Versa.
Step 5: After your watch connected to computer, a prompt will be shown to let you follow the on-screen instructions on your computer to choose the local music you want to transfer to your watch.

The Fitbit Connect app is available to download on Windows and Mac computers, and it allows users to not only set up their Fitbit device but also sync their data to their Fitbit app. However, Fitbit's help page now says that the option will no longer be available starting from October 13th, 2022. The Google-owned company also said that the app will be deactivated after that day. Fitbit will now limit syncing to the mobile app that's available for Android and iOS devices. Users who also used the app to transfer their playlists to their Fitbit won't be able to do so after October 13 either. 2ff7e9595c
